An international seminar on Integrated Pest Management and National Action Plans is being organised by the Nordic Association of Agricultural Scientists in Tallinn, Estonia, on November 7th and 8th. With the deadline for the completion of National Action Plans set for December 2012, alongside the mainstreaming of IPM principles by 2014, these topics are generating much attention and it is not too late to register.
Speakers from the USA, France, Germany, The Netherlands and several Northern European countries, including several ENDURE participants, will be sharing their knowledge, plans and experiences on IPM research and implementation. The aim of the seminar is to improve information exchange among IPM experts and to work together to make the sustainable use of pesticides fit the demands of EU policy makers and consumers, as well as stimulating the process in the direction of reducing pesticide dependence in agro-food systems.
The Nordic Association of Agricultural Scientists promotes agricultural research in the Nordic-Baltic countries by arranging seminars and facilitating contacts between scientists, advisers and end-users of knowledge. Its vision is an efficient and sustainable utilisation of our agricultural and horticultural resources. Its members are engaged in research, education, extension, administration or other public or private services in the agricultural sector.
Deadline for submission of abstracts of oral or poster presentations is September 14, 2012 .
