IPM Decisions updates platform

March 30, 2023

The IPM Decisions project has updated its online platform and now offers 26 Decision Support Systems (DSS) for Integrated Pest Management (IPM). In addition, the platform offers access to a further 17 DSS through links to developers’ websites.

The project says the platform has been designed as a ‘one stop shop’ for IPM decision support, providing multi-language DSS for major pests, weeds and diseases in a variety of crops across Europe.

Project coordinator Neil Paveley told the project’s website: “We’ve developed a simple ‘click and go’ platform so users can find and run DSS, to assess the risks of pests on their farm. The platform provides information to help users select DSS that are most suited to their needs. More DSS will be added during 2023.”

Examples of the DSS currently available include cabbage moth in cabbage crops, septoria in wheat, cutworm in a wide range of crops including lettuce, beet, potato and brassicas, and orange blossom midge in cereal crops.

To help users make the most of the platform, the project has produced videos containing useful tips. These are available through the IPM Decisions YouTube channel.
