AU, Aarhus UniversityDenmarkAarhus University is the leading plant protection research institute in the Nordic region carrying out research on optimisation of pesticide use, non-chemical weed control, exploitation of host variety traits for disease control, disease resistance, allelopathy, biological control, information and communication technology and decision support systems. |
Dr Per Nielsen Kudsk | The Aarhus University Faculty of Agricultural Sciences is the leader of the research activity Optimising and reducing pesticide use based on existing approaches (case studies, RA1). It participates actively in all research and integrative activities. |
SSSUP, Scuola Superiore di Studi Universitari e di Perfezionamento Sant'AnnaItalySSSUP runs a unique series of long-term field-scale cropping systems experiments and has internationally recognised expertise in cropping system research, functional biodiversity, weed ecology and community dynamics, cover crops, and non-chemical (preventive, cultural, mechanical and thermal) weed management. |
Professor Paolo Bàrberi | SSSUP participates in integration networks (virtual laboratory) and research activities: wheat and IWM case studies, landscape and community ecology, invading and emerging pests, weed biology and management (RA1, RA2.3, RA 4.4, RA 4.5). It coordinates the education programme. |
SZIE, Szent István UniversityHungaryThe Department of Plant Protection belongs to the Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences of the SzentIstvan University, Godollo, in Hungary. The University is the largest one of its kind in Hungary, covering a broad range of rural development related sciences from natural resources through agricultural production to landscape and environmental management, rural economics and social sciences. |
Professor Jozsef Kiss | SZIE coordinates the Joint training and education programme (SA1) based on its higher education competence and on IPM capacity development of farming communities through training programmes. Besides the above, SZIE contributes to other activities in topics that are relevant: IPM of maize, landscape and pests, diseases of selected crops, pheromones, molecular plant pathology. |
UdL, Universitat de LleidaSpainThe University of Lleida is a public university that has, among other things, an agricultural campus devoted to research and higher education in agriculture, food technology and forestry. UdL-IRTA, Lleida is a joint centre of the University of Lleida and IRTA R&D. IRTA is the Institute for Food and Agricultural Research and Technology (Institut de Recerca i Tecnologia Agroalimentà ries), a state-owned institution of the Catalan Government (Generalitat de Catalunya). Centre UdL-IRTA develops research in several fields, among which crop protection is one of the most relevant. Insect pests are particularly targeted and there has been a regular cooperation between UdL and the IRTA-Entomology group in the last 25 years. |
Dr Jesus Avilla | UdL contributes to ENDURE through its expertise on basic and applied research in insect pest ecology and control and also with its experience with technology transfer of IPM systems to growers' associations. It coordinates the tomato case study. |
