Poster opportunity for French conference

september 10, 2009

Poster presentations are being welcomed for the first annual event organised by Le pole de compétitivité Q@LI-MEDiterranée, the group which brings together some 1,200 different organisations working in the fields of agriculture, agricultural research and the food industry in Languedoc-Roussillon, France.

Q@LI-MEDiterranée is staging the conference, Innover pour diminuer l’impact des intrants
(Innovate to reduce the impact of inputs) in the city of Montpellier on Friday November 6 and will be focusing on grapevine, fruits and vegetables, the three staples of agricultural production in the region. In particular, it is seeking posters presenting scientific projects, collaborations and research platforms. The deadline for poster presentations has been extended until Friday October 9.

Q@LI-MEDiterranée, whose members include ENDURE partners ACTA (Association de coordination technique agricole), CIRAD (the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development) and INRA (the French National Institute for Agricultural Research), will be tackling three specific areas:

  • How regulation can be a source of innovation
  • Identifying the technical and scientific barriers to the necessary changes in agricultural practices and the development of alternative methods
  • Exchanges on socio-economic good practices to promote innovation and to diffuse new products, methods and practices.
