Germany’s Julius Kuehn Institute (pictured) will be hosting Appolinaire Tagne, from the Institute of Agricultural Research for Development in Cameroon, who will be focusing on the screening of essential oil from Thymus vulgaris for its fungicidal properties against Bipolaris sorokiniana , the pathogen of black point disease of wheat.

Italy’s Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) will be welcoming Timothy Ipoola Olabiyi, from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in Ogbomoso, Nigeria. Timothy will be examining integrated control of soil-borne pathogens of onion using composts and Trichoderma species.

Tetyana Dyman, from Bila Tserkva National Agrarian University in Ukraine, will be visiting the Agroscope Federal Research Station in Switzerland to focus on the adaptation of life cycle assessment (LCA) tools to farming practice for the assessment of pesticide impact on biodiversity in the Ukraine.

ENDURE has devoted extra funding to its ICPC grant scheme to ensure that three scientists rather than the original two are able to take advantage of the system, which is designed to foster the exchange of knowledge between ICPC countries and ENDURE partners.

The ENDURE grants cover travel costs, accommodation and living expenses and a contribution to the hosting institution for expenses. More details of the scheme can be found in the external mobility web pages.
