A new deadline of December 31 has been set for submissions to the Future Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in Europe congress, which is expected to attract around 1,000 delegates to Riva del Garda, Italy, next March.
The event, whose full title is ‘Pesticide Use and Risk Reduction for future IPM in Europe’ will provide a unique opportunity to share regulatory, scientific, and technological information and is being jointly organised by ENDURE, the PURE research project, Fondazione Edmund Mach and the Centro di sperimentazione agraria e forestale di Laimburg, in collaboration with the autonomous province of Trento, the Italian ministry of agriculture, the International Organisation for Biological Control of noxious animals and plants (IOBC-WPRS), the International Biocontrol Manufacturers’ Association (IBMA) and Giornate Fitopatologiche.
Running from March 19 to 21 on the northern shore of Lake Garda, the event’s main objectives are to promote knowledge exchange among scientists, companies, farmers, advisers, policy makers and supply chain stakeholders, and to identify approaches, tools and techniques to meet the future needs of European crop protection for sustainable agriculture and development.
The highlight will be the scientific programme, which, thanks to invited keynote speakers and offered scientific contributions, will explore new directions in IPM and tools to implement Directive 2009/128/EC, and give an overview of pesticide regulation in Europe. Complementing the main programme, there will be parallel scientific workshops, demonstrations, sponsored presentations, posters and stands.
The topics which will be addressed in plenary and parallel sessions include:
Future IPM
Design
