Aarhus University, one of ENDURE’s Danish partners, is seeking a post-doc researcher in plant pathology to join its tenure track programme. This programme offers highly qualified candidates a researcher position for six years with the prospect of performance-based advancement to a tenured senior researcher post.
The successful candidate will join Aarhus University’s Department of Agroecology in Slagelse, which boasts one of Europe’s leading plant pathology research environments, with research programmes in molecular diagnostics, epidemiology, ecology and the prevention and control of plant diseases in agriculture. The department hosts the Global Rust Reference Centre.
Aarhus University says the candidate will have the opportunity to develop a research area within plant pathology for one or more of the diseases affecting important broad-leaved arable or high-value crops. Depending on the profile of the candidate, the research programme could include host resistance, pathogen virulence, host-pathogen interactions and pathogen biology, ecology and/or epidemiology. It says the programme could include, but is not restricted to, host interactions and biology and control of soil-borne pathogens/nematodes, pathogens affecting high-value crops and/or seed-borne pathogens. Aarhus University is interested in applicants with experience in classical as well as molecular plant pathology.
