Scientists from Russia, Argentina and Trinidad in the West Indies will be spending three months conducting research at ENDURE institutes after being award grants under the Network’s external mobility programme for International Co-operation Partner Countries.
Alexander Berestetskiy, from the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Saint Petersburg, will be spending his three-month placement at the National Research Council’s Institute of Sciences of Food Production in Bari, Italy, where he will focus on biological controls and natural herbicides against perennial weeds.
Also heading to Italy is Wendy-Ann Isaac-George, from The University of the West Indies in Trinidad, who will be spending three months at the Scuola Superiore di Studi Universitari e di Perfezionamento Sant’Anna in Pisa to conduct research on field vegetables.
The third recipient of an ENDURE mobility grant is Maria Reynoso, from Universidad Nacional de Rio Cuarto, Córdoba, Argentina, who will be conducting research on Fusarium at Denmark’s Aarhus University.
Through previous grants, ENDURE has helped scientists from Algeria, Cameroon, Egypt, Nigeria and Ukraine spend time at its research institutes in Europe, in addition to helping around 100 researchers from inside the Network to conduct research at partner organisations.
