Are you involved in system experiments, whether at the project stage, ongoing or completed? If so and you can spare a few minutes, you can take part in a survey forming part of a PhD thesis focusing on ‘Methodological contributions to experimental and observational approaches in agronomy and agroecology’ being conducted by Sandrine Longis (a CIFRE Arvalis thesis in collaboration with INRAE’s Agroecologies, Innovations and Ruralities combined research unit (UMR AGIR)).
The survey comprises two questionnaires, one addressing methodological questions related to system experiments and the other addressing your role in system experiments.
“The first questionnaire concerns an experimental facility in which you are involved (one questionnaire per facility), and aims to identify any methodological problems or questions you encounter,” report the organisers. “The answers you are willing to provide will enable to establish a typology of methodological questions specific to this type of experiment and to design a theoretical methodological framework to address them.
“The second questionnaire focuses on your role in the system experiment(s) in order to better understand the vision that practitioners have of system experimentation and to enrich the analysis of the first questionnaire.”
Noting that the survey complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and contributions will remain anonymous, they add: “Your answers will thus contribute to strengthening this essential approach to agronomy, agroecology and animal husbandry.”
