One of ENDURE's two Danish partners has changed its name after merging with the country's pig research centre. The Knowledge Centre for Agriculture (VFL) is now known as SEGES and, together with the Danish Agricultural Advisory Service, is in a nationwide collaboration with a total of 30 advisory services, which combined employ some 3,100 staff.
SEGES is Denmark's main supplier of professional knowledge for the agricultural professions and works within all areas of farming in close cooperation with universities, ministries and professional and industrial bodies.
SEGES is part of a two-layer system whereby it disseminates knowledge to a number of advisory services, which in turn advise farmers. The system delivers advice to 35,000 farmers, 1,000 horticultural and nursery operations, and 5,000 other small and medium size businesses.
For more information, visit the SEGES website.
