This year marked the fourth ABIM event, which is jointly organised by ENDURE partner the International Biocontrol Manufacturers Association (IBMA) and the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL), with support from the European Commission.

The meeting gave delegates the opportunity to exchange experiences and obtain information on the latest products and developments on the world market. In the scientific programme, 25 presentations covered the latest trends in market development, regulatory affairs and novel products for plant protection.

These included a series of case studies examining the successful introduction of biological controls. In Almeria, Spain, for example, thousands of hectares of crops such as peppers, tomatoes and aubergines are now protected using biological control methods.
